About

The product exists because of a problem that would not go away

For two decades I watched businesses spend money on advertising and never learn which spend produced a customer. Leadtrak.ai is the tool I wished those businesses had — built solo, bootstrapped, and designed to answer one question: what did that lead actually cost?

Who built it

Leadtrak.ai is built by Mike Atkinson, a full-stack developer and technical founder with 25 years building lead management systems, CRMs and websites — primarily in the UK automotive dealership sector. If you have ever enquired about a car online in the UK, there is a fair chance a system I wrote processed that lead.

That background matters. I did not come to lead tracking from marketing theory; I came to it from the unglamorous end — the database that has to capture the enquiry before the customer loses patience, the report a sales manager actually reads at 8am, the attribution that survives a real auditor asking "how do you know?".

Why it exists

The recurring failure I saw was not a lack of leads. It was a lack of accountability. A dealership would run three campaigns, capture hundreds of enquiries, and have no honest answer to "which campaign produced a paying customer, and what did that customer cost to acquire?". The form told them a lead arrived. Nothing told them whether the lead was worth the click that bought it.

Leadtrak closes that loop. It captures the lead, qualifies it against a rule you set, matches the spend back to the source, and reports cost per qualified lead by channel. Not leads. Qualified leads, with a cost attached.

How it is run

The company is deliberately small and self-funded:

  • Bootstrapped and self-funded. No outside investors, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. The product roadmap answers to customers, not a board.
  • Built solo. One founder, one codebase, one accountable person. Support is by email, answered by someone who wrote the software.
  • Based in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. UK-registered company. Data is hosted in the EU/UK.
  • Self-serve by design. No sales calls, no demos, no onboarding calls. You sign up, build a funnel, and see results. If you need help, you email and a person replies.

What it is — and is not

Leadtrak is a mobile-first funnel builder plus lead capture plus cost-per-qualified-lead attribution. It is not an all-in-one ad platform, and it does not try to be your entire martech stack. It does one thing with unusual honesty: it tells you what your leads cost, by source, and it never loses one.

A few specifics that set the tone:

  • Leads are written to the database before any processing runs, so a slow downstream step never costs you an enquiry.
  • The tracking pixel ships underneath the funnel builder, so attribution works from your first published funnel with zero configuration.
  • Per-answer scoring weights mean a lead who picks "within 30 days" and "budget over £10k" arrives already scored and prioritised.
  • Every plan, including the free one, has unlimited users. You are billed on leads captured, never per seat.

The trial, plainly

Every paid plan starts with 30 days of full Growth access — no credit card. At day 31 the account drops to the permanent free plan rather than being cut off. Your funnels, your leads and your data are kept. You are never forced to decide under pressure.
